Our Mission

What We Do

ScriptEd equips students in under-resourced schools with the fundamental coding skills and professional experiences that together create access to careers in technology.

What We Do

Unlocking Potential

Our students have the creativity and potential to be drivers of innovation and technology in the 21st century. Yet, few students have access to the resources and mentorship necessary to pursue a career in the industry.

What Makes Us Unique

ScriptEd plays a unique role in technology education and we do our best to provide the highest quality instruction to students in under-served high schools.

Point of Pride

ScriptEd is breaking the deepest-seated social inequities in the technology industry. Things are already looking up.

In the 2014-2015 school year, our student population was 43% African American, 30% Hispanic, 22% Asian, 3% White, and 1% Other. 36% of our students were female.
Economic Empowerment
In the 2014-2015 school year, 87% of our students qualified for free or reduced price lunch.
ScriptEd has grown exponentially since 2012. Starting out with 27 students in our first year, we’ve expanded into 31 high schools and serve over 600 students in the 2015-2016 school year. In 2017, we will be piloting our programs in schools in San Francisco.

We Love to Have Fun

We encourage our students to be creative as well as efficient. At our twice-yearly ScriptEd Hackathons, our students exercise their creative talents by brainstorming, producing and presenting new projects, all in one day!

Our Future

ScriptEd is rapidly expanding to schools across New York City and San Francisco and, one day, plans to arrive at schools in cities across the United States. If you want your school to benefit from a program like ours, please send us a message.
